OSHA Requires Forklift Operator Training

OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.178(l) requires that all powered industrial truck operators be trained and evaluated before operating a forklift. Untrained operators are a leading cause of workplace injuries — and an OSHA compliance liability.

Training must be completed before unsupervised operation, and refresher training is required every 3 years or after any incident, unsafe behavior observation, or equipment/environment change.

Our Certification Programs

Initial Operator Certification

  • Hands-on practical evaluation
  • Written knowledge assessment
  • Certificate of completion

Refresher / Recertification Training

OSHA requires refresher training every 3 years and after any observed unsafe behavior, accident, or near-miss. Keep your operators current and your company compliant.

  • 3-Year OSHA requirement
  • Post-incident retraining
  • New equipment or environment
  • Observed unsafe behavior
